four poster beds

Emily Oster

A couple of weeks ago, I was trolling Craigslist when I came across a wood four poster bed. It had nice clean lines and was pretty inexpensive. I thought about emailing the seller but talked myself out of it as a four poster bed is no small piece of furniture and beds are not very high on my want list of home furnishings. This was a mistake and I have been kicking myself ever since. Four poster beds are one of those classic pieces of furniture that if made well can last not only years but generations. I tried finding the post again but it had been removed - probably sold at an even lower price than listed. Now of course, I am obsessed with finding one. If I had been smart enough to snatch the bed up I would have added curtains with ties like in image #1 - love that look! See below for some lovely four poster beds.
