resources for hollywood regency style

Hollywood Regency is a design style named for the Southern California industry and lifestyle of the 1920s to the 1950s that inspired it. Connected with glamour and opulence, distinct elements such as mirror, brass, fretwork and bold shapes characterize many of the pieces. The style in its purist form would be a bit much for most people. But, there are many styles and types of styles that look totally modern and are, in fact, being replicated by current furniture and home decor companies. Two of my favorite places to look for Hollywood Regency pieces are Palm Beach Regency and Circa Who. Both out of Florida where the design style was hugely popular, these two stores have a great collection of unique pieces - just watch out for shipping charges!
It should come to no surprise that I tend to gravitate towards the wicker/rattan pieces.

I also tend to go for the faux bamboo pieces as I especially like how they look refinished and painted in a fresh color.

The classic campaign style is also a popular design for Hollywood Regency that I love.

Another great thing about this style is the lamps. I look for ones that are larger in scale and have simpler shapes like these two.

And then there are the pieces that don't really fit into a type but are just cool or have great lines or would be interesting items to have.
