advent calendars

Emily Oster

I am a bit late with this one - 16 days to be exact - but I have dreams of being more prepared next year and doing an advent calendar that might look something like one of these. Happy Monday!

1. paper tree via IKEA  2. kraft box calendar via SHIM & SONS  3. mini tree calendar via oh happy day  4. red envelope calendar via Martha Stewart  5. wine calendar via Style Me Pretty  6. garland advent via Oh My Deer&n…

pendleton woolen mills

Emily Oster

Tis the season for wool and plaid and perhaps no other company is more known for this than Pendleton Woolen Mills. Founded in 1863, the company is still owned and run by the Bishop family in Portland, Oregon. I have always been aware of the company's products but until recently was unfamiliar with all they had to offer in attention to their famous plaid. I won't lie - a lot of their products are in need of some new styling and updating but there are some real gems in their home products line. I am especially drawn to some of their products for little ones that introduce a fresh color palette. See below for my picks - anyone still need Christmas gifts?

holiday music picks

Emily Oster

Since Friday, November 29th I have been listening to Christmas music pretty much non-stop. Last year, I relied on a Christmas Pandora station to keep me in the holiday spirit - it may or may not have been the "Mariah Carey Christmas" station.  But this year since I am now a Spotify user, I have been enjoying their large selection of Christmas playlists. I like all sorts of holiday music but this year I am especially into folksy takes on the classics. Below are a few of my favorites for you all to enjoy.
