paloma's nest

Emily Oster

Paloma's Nest is a family owned and run business founded in 2007. Named for the artisans' daughter, Paloma, the company combined Caroline Colom Vasquez talents in ceramics with her husband's, Jose Vasquez-Corbalan, expert woodworking skills. They create modern heirloom items and are recognized as one of this year's finalists in Martha Stewart's American Made contest. Below are a few favorites. I am particularly obsessed with the children's animal furniture. Have a great weekend!

Herbs & Spices by Rifle Paper Co.

You might be familiar with Rifle Paper Co. and not even know it. Since their start in 2009, the company has exploded now selling their stationary, art prints, paper items, iphone cases and most recently wallpaper in stores worldwide. Their signature style is whimsical, colorful and overall just very lovely. My favorites include their art prints especially in kids rooms and their new line of wallpaper which I would also use in a kids room or in a powder room.

Brass bath fittings are definitely on trend. Personally, I really like the look and don't think it is overly trendy but it does take a particular design to really allow the brass to shine. My favorite look with brass fittings is one that is modern but mixed with retro, industrial elements.  I would use the finish with subway tile maybe some bluestone and some chunky wood elements.
