rh teen

Emily Oster

My apologies for being MIA last week. We were in South Carolina for the whole week celebrating the marriage of my sister and her now husband. Congratulations Katie and Sam! We got back late Monday and it took me almost all of Tuesday to get myself back into the swing of reality.

Today, I am back with an exciting new home decor resource. Restoration Hardware has launched a new line - RH Teen. There is a ton of great stuff that is more youthful and modern than their main line. And while the prices on the big items - beds, dressers etc. - are still steep, I was pleasantly surprised that the smaller items - chairs, lighting, nightstands etc. - are more reasonable priced. Check out below more than a few favorites.

perforated metal detailing

Since using metal mesh as part of our guest room finish carpentry project, I have had my eye out for similar detailing used elsewhere. I love how the mesh introduce pattern and texture to carpentry pieces and how it also is functional (venting) and a cost saver (less wood). Take a look at these great examples.

Have a good weekend everyone!

crazy good deals

Emily Oster

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. Yesterday, I was moving pretty slow recovering from three days of fun. But today, I am back with some crazy good deals! So get ready to shop!

This silver burst mirror from Wisteria is 76% off! Selling for just $139.99 down from $599. They do get you with a shipping and handling fee of $125 but its still a bargain. I like this mirror for its sculptural quality and could see it looking great in an entryway or dining room.

If you recall from this post, I have a thing for director's chairs. And these ones from West Elm are an amazing purchase at $49.99. I could see using them indoor or out and mixing the fabric depending on season, room, preference etc.

This brasserie bench by Serena & Lily is a piece that will never go out of style. Totally classic and timeless, especially in black, this bench is marked down to $268.99 (plus a $150 handling fee) from $895.

Now this deal is just sort of ridiculous. The Metal Eloise Canopy Bed - size queen - from World Market is just $341.99! It wasn't that expensive to begin with at $569.99 but still a queen bed for under $350 is pretty rare especially because Restoration Hardware sells a very similar one for $1665.

Finally, this Lulie Wallace limited edition print sold at Anthropologie is a great buy at $75. The price is down from $298 and the exact print is being sold on Wallace's website for $150.
