furniture design
Emily Oster
So if you have been paying attention today's post was suppose to be a continuation of the plumbing know how series however I am not quite done with my research/post so my apologies and make sure to check back next week. In the meantime, I thought I would share this beautiful line of furniture by Chelsea Textiles Ltd. The line states that is inspired by the work of T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings, a British born architect and furniture designer. I was not familiar with his work but apparently he was the "most important decorator in America" in the late 1930s and 1940s (Wikipedia). Upon doing further searching, I figured out that the Chelsea Textiles Ltd. furniture line is pretty much a direct reproduction of T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings pieces for Widdicomb Furniture Co. minus the color change. I am not familiar with how copyright issues work with furniture design or this case in particular so I thought I would just share both. Either way the design is beautiful and something I would love to have.
