tom scheerer in the bahamas
Emily Oster
This time last year, we were planning our May trip to the Bahamas. It was an amazing vacation and one we frequently talk of doing again. In fact, if it were feasible I would book that trip right now! So when I saw the recent Architectural Digest feature on Tom Scheerer's new personal Bahamas home, I was already predisposed to love the project. Composed of six small pavilions connected by courtyards and outdoor living spaces, the home is simplicity at its best. Stucco covered concrete, hipped roofs and thick walls make the structures into their own sort of monolithic village.
The exterior is perfectly complimented by the interior which includes lots of white, rattan and natural textiles.

This Great Abaco Island home is just the most recent of Scheerer's Bahamas design collection. Past projects include this stunning hilltop home....
This veranda home...
As well as several others - some available for viewing on Scheerer's website and other not yet published.
