home feature: miranda brooks' brooklyn house
Emily Oster
I stumbled upon the stunning home of Miranda Brooks and Bastien Halard when sourcing this below image for a girl's room design.
Its one of my favorite little girl's room and her other daughter's room is just as sweet and romantic.
Located in Brooklyn, the home has a distinctly European flair with a compromise being met between Brooks - an English landscape architect - and Halard - a French architect:
"The first floor would be French, with white oak flooring inspired by the parquet à point de Hongrie typical of Parisian apartments. The middle floor would be English, with Marthe Armitage hand-printed wallpaper in the girls’ rooms—horse chestnuts for Grey and a mélange of butterflies, birds, and spiderwebs for Poppy. And the top floor would evoke New York in spirit, a place where compromises and concessions had to be made" (Vogue).
Of all the rooms in the house, the garden space seems to be the most magical especially with two pet bunnies.
The original Vogue article is worth the read as Brooks and Halard seem to live quite the life....
Have a great weekend!
