wishbone chair
Emily Oster
The Wishbone Chair also known as "the Y" or "CH-24" was designed by Hans Wegner in 1949. Produced by Carl Hansen & Son since 1950, the chair is inspired by portraits of Danish merchants seated in Ming chairs. The frame of the chair is made from steam bent solid wood while the seat is hand woven from paper cord.
I love this chair for its timeless design and its ability to work in so many different types and styles of rooms. Carl Hansen still produces the chair today offering it in a large variety of woods and finishes. You can find an authorized dealer near you here.
